Hello Friends,
So i am starting this new project where i have a tank chassis on which i have to mount a robotic arm with 6 DOF which means 4dc motors for the tank and 6 servo motors for the robotic arm. I want to use a PS3 remote to control the complete robot wirelessly. I have an arduino uno and an arduino mega rn. My issue is how do i connect all of the above with the mega becuase i can either use usb shield for the controller or the motor shield for the dc motors. Any solution would be appreciated!! My other question would be what kind of batteries would i require to power this heavy machinery? DC motors are 12V and i am using standard DF robot 3-5V servos. How to connect everything and power it all up!
Thanks in advance!

Why? (I never used "shields", don't even own any).

- 12V battery that can comfortably supply the current your motors need, for the time you need it.
- connect a buck converter to step down the 12V to 5V for your 5V components. Use a converter that can supply at least the stall current of all servos together (can be a lot - check the data sheet of your specific parts).
- use drivers for your motors (simple MOSFET switch or an H-bridge driver, as per your needs, with parts that can handle the stall current of the motors).
