Hello,
I received a 4-wire Ultrasonic Sensor from China, with the attached specification of the pinout.
Pin 1 (Red): VCC DC 5V
Pin 2 (Black): GND
Pin 3 (White): Output 1 - Level Output / Enable
Pin 4 (Yellow): Output 2 - Level Output
The output format is RS232.
I was wondering how I could connect this to an Arduino?
If I am not using an Arduino, could I use a USART-USB and some sort of serial debug tool software?
Thanks for the support!
RS-232 is an electrical specification, not a data protocol. Please post a link that will show the real specifications for your sensor.

From the supplier, I received the following note:
The data can be read from the serial port. A USB-to-serial converter may be used to connect the unit to the computer. It is recommended to install a serial port tool on the computer in order to display the data.
I can use the Arduino Serial Monitor at the Serial Port tool, right?

First, make up your mind as to what you are going to connect to your sensor!

Hi,
OPs diag.
The output format is RS232.
Where does it say RS232?
There is no Rx or Tx terminals..
I'd assume its a 0 to 5V LEVEL output, not DIGITAL
More info on the sensor please, such as link to where you bought it, part number and the data sheet you are quoting.
Thanks.. Tom..
