How to connect a potentiometer to BLDC-8015?

I am trying to connect a potentiometer to my BLDC driver.
The documentation is quite poor and I am a bit confused...

The motor is running great. But the ports are confusing me. step 3 is connecting my arduino to it.China Brushless DC motor Driver BLDC-8015A Manufacturer and Supplier | ACTChina Brushless DC motor Driver BLDC-8015A Manufacturer and Supplier | ACT

Could someone help me to point out how I attach an external potmeter to the driver?

One pin to 5v, middle pin to AVI contact of BLDC, last pin to GND of BLDC:

Great! thank you! So I cannot get 5V from the driver (this driver).... right..?
what potentiometer value do I need... 10k is what I see often

I see some people having 3 of the pot pins attached to their BLDC driver.. this is what confused me lol

Hi, @wbr
Page 5 of the datasheet.

PS. Note the link between the controller gnd in the driver power supply gnd.

I didn't found a 5v on the driver pins.

I think that 10k will be OK

So gnd in the controller and gnd in the power supply are common.
Where on earth is that 5V hiding that you see on the schematics....

So the gnd of the potentiometer can be connected to any gnd on the driver and the middle pin to AVI

Where is this...

What this is probably telling you is that the control logic levels can be different from 5V - typically Vcc = 24V in an industrial system. With higher voltages than 5V you would need to add extra series resistors R in series with the optos. Vcc could be 5V in which case they wouldn't be needed. But the expected control voltage is 0 - 5V so you need to connect 5V to the top of the speed control pot - or possibly connect another resistor in series. For example if your pot was 10k and Vcc 24V then a 14k resistor between Vcc and the top of the pot.

Hi, @wbr

The 5V, Vcc, is supplied by the controller.
