How to connect a wall output to a rectifier module

The subject is basically it. Is there a device or adapter that allows you to plug into a wall outlet and somehow hookup to a rectifier? Its hard to explain but I am not sure how to use a rectifier from a wall power source. Since a rectifier uses jumper wires for the power input and the wall outlet is made of 3 prongs.

Hope that makes sense. Feel free to ask questions for clarity.

It sounds suspiciously similar to Power converters - how to use wall outlet as A/C source - Project Guidance - Arduino Forum. Perhaps Lapin1997 decided to create a new account after their old one got a temporary ban for cross posting?

This is your appropriate solution:

Talk to this guy - s/he has a very similar non-Arduino problem and a very identical academic IP address.

You're probably on the same campus.
