How to Connect Arduino Mega 2560 to Raspberry Pi 3 Model B

Hello !

I have a problem to connect my Arduino Mega 2560 to the Raspberry Pi 3 Model B with Serial port,

Can you help me please ?

The Goal of my project is the read Id of NFC Tags, (I use the Itead NFC PN532) and send it from Arduino to Raspberry Pi, and look if the Id is exists or not in the Database MySQL installed in Raspberry pi.

Thanks to your Helps

Are you trying to connect using a regular USB cable (as you would with a PC) or are you trying to connect directly to the I/O pins on your RPi - perhaps to the Serial1 pins on the Mega?

I am not familiar with the RPi. I believe they work at 3.3v so you must NOT connect a Mega OUTPUT pin to an RPi I/O pin without a voltage divider between them. The Mega should be able to detect 3.3v signals on an INPUT pin.

I know it is possible, the SleepyPi arduino board does exactly this via the GPIO pins on the Pi.
