How to connect Big speakers to Arduino?

Hi,

I am trying to build a cat repellant that plays a loud sound when it detects movement at night. I have a PIR sensor for that.

I was having problems figuring out how to connect a big pair of speakers that the Arduino could activate and play the sound through. I have purchased the DFPlayer Mini but I am getting a feeling that will not suffice with the Arduino output.
I need it to deliver a powerful audio blast to scare the intruder(s).

Another option that comes to my amateur mind is to make the stereo output from the DFPlayer go to a proper 3.5mm jack which plugs into an independently powered speaker amplifier system.

Although I would like to build everything in 1 so I can pack it together and pack it into 1 container for use outside.

Any help is appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Hello,
use a set of a PC-loudspeaker system.

Our cat is an indoor cat but she is not phased by loud noises. You might consider a sprinkler with an arduino controlled valve.

Yes you need an amplifier or powered speakers (which have an amplifier built-in). Of course it will also annoy you and any neighbors you may have.

Horn type speakers will generally give you more loudness per watt.

I knew someone who had a motion activated sprinkler to keep away deer and apparently it worked pretty well.

And it doesn't wake the neighbors

It's not really in the spirit of DIY of course, but there are these little gizmos that emit a near-ultrasonic sound (I think it's actually between 15kHz and 18kHz since I can still hear it) which cats apparently find annoying. I'm sure some also come with motion detection sensors. For the price these things generally sell for, it's very difficult to justify the time spent on kludging something together yourself.
