How to connect the flexible connector to breadboard?

I have few of these mini stepper motors, that are taken out of floppy drives. They are really handy, but one has a problem connecting them to breadboard.

I tried removing that flexible strip, but it was messy and coil connectors got melted in a process.

Any ideas?

If you are good at soldering, you can solder wires to these.
Just be quick so as not to melt the material.
.

Use the proper connector
Find the pitch of the cable:

Priceless!! Many thanks.

I didn't know what these connectors are called.

No problem.

I don't think those molex connectors are exactly breadboardable. (since you asked how to connect to bread board). I think LarryD's suggestion to solder bread board jumper wires to the cable is more appropriate. or if you have the floppy drives, maybe take the connector from the floppy drive.

Without making a custom pcb to put the connector on, I'd take the connector from the floppy drive, possibly by means as crude as cutting of the part of the board with the connector...

There will be little strength in the solder connection to the flat flexible cable. Solder single-conductor wire to the FFC connector for linking to the breadboard.
