Do you just have the sensor or is it mounted on a breakout board?

Only have the sensor
I suspect that it will be extremely unreliable. Also, don't forget that you need a decoupling capacitor as shown in the datasheet (100nF ceramic).
I would get some stripboard and solder the chip and ceramic capacitor on it. Solder wires to the stripboard and wire that to your Uno.
I don't think the legs on the chip are long enough to connect to a jumper wire. You could cut the female ends off, strip a millimeter or two of insulation off, and solder directly to the pins. You'll need a capacitor between pins 2 (ground) and 6 (power).
