How to convert AVRDUDE EEPROM copy to ASCII

Hello i have been working on my masters and i have been able to read the EEPROM of a few IoT devices and i know it has my WiFi password in there somewhere, do not worry it a test password. It should be Password90, but the EEPROM file is not as easy to read as i hoped, how the hell do i convert it back to ASCII i can not even find a string in a test i did with my Uno, both files are the same format, the Uno's is just smaller.

Can anyone tell me how i convert this file back to ASCII, please?

Can anyone tell me how i convert this file back to ASCII, please?

I would have thought it very likely that the password is encrypted

The file is in Intel HEX format, which has been around since the '70s. Google it, and you'll find tons of documentation on the (very simple) format.

Regards,
Ray L.

No obvious plaintext thereā€¦

Thanks, well at least it is secure... what tool did you use oqibidipo ? i would love to check some other IoT devices.

You just need a hex editor - most have an ASCII decide in a column.

Secure-ish. Once the hacker has possession of the device, as you have, and the ability to operate the device, as you also have, there is no way to protect a password.
