Our goal would be to use Ardunio, because we know that, and some kind of sensors.
The goal would be to create a motion capture cloth for record movements and process almost real-time to a PC. And to be able to record going up or down on the stairs or running under open sky.
idea: Use 1 Arduino Uno and connect 16 different MinIMU-9 v3 sensors (Pololu - MinIMU-9 v3 Gyro, Accelerometer, and Compass (L3GD20H and LSM303D Carrier)). Because of I2C we would use an analog multiplexer and resistors to get them work. The Arduino would use Bluetooth to send the measured values to a PC, where we would process the measurements with something. (3Ds max and/or with something). It seems to be good, but we try to find a cheaper but still good solution.
idea: Use 1 MinIMU-9 v3 sensor with a blend micro (http://redbearlab.com/blendmicro) what would work with the other 15 blend micros. The other 15 blend micros would use this, for example: (Recommendations For You - DealeXtreme). Our idea would be that we would compute an almost accurate position with MinIMU and the other, mentioned accelerometers/gyroscopes would compute the relative positions to the minIMU or to each other. The blend micros would communicate with each other and one of them would send the values to a PC (with bluetooth). The process of the measurements would be the previously mentioned 3ds max or something combo.
other idea: ?
We would like to find the best and cheap solution until the end of the week, because the shipping would take a lot of time. Can you help me find the "best", or some kind of better and cheap solution? Thanks a lot.
Using Accelerometers, Gyros, & Compasses for motion capture is not very practical, drift and noise makes it difficult to do dead reckoning calculation.
I would go with the conventional video capture and image analysis.
However:-
Our goal would be to use Ardunio, because we know that,
Is not going to happen, you might get some results with a Raspberry Pi.
Then it's not cloth...my native language is not english, i don't know what kind of word should I used for that.
They use video capture and image analysis, but this system is "closed" in a very small area and they want to record movement outside too...to be able to move upward or downward on stairs, etc.
Okay then, Raspberry Pi.
We thought that Accelerometers, Gyros, & Compasses would get almost the same accurate thing under open sky just like what we used in that closed room. I'm not sure that will be noiser, because of this video:
