How to dim 120 volt incandescent lights

Hi, I would like to dim 1000 watts of incandescent lights over a period of about 10 min's. While I could easily drive a triac or scr's this will not be UL approved. Levatron makes a dimmer that is IR controlled, this would work nicely as I could drive an IR and place it in sight of the dimmer. But how would I know what to send to the IR transmitter?

Are there other devices that could be controlled by an Arduino that would be UL approved?

Any advise/ideas are appreciated.

You will need to find/buy a remote if you would like to know what it sends. using this IRremote lib you can read and send IR signals, but to be able to send it, you should know what to send...

I think it might be easier to build one yourself, using a mosfet or something equivalent, more info can probably found here
