how to get +12 to -12V signals to arduino analog input

I have to get 12v to -12 range for read the signal of my position sensor or at least 5v to -5v how it is possible?? :frowning:

Think of it roughly like this.

Add 12v to the signal to change the range to 0 to 24v
Use a voltage divider to reduce that to a range of 0 to 5v.

Alternatively use a diode to lose the negative part and a voltage divider to reduce the positive part to the range 0 to 5v

And you will probably bet a lot better advice if you tell us what the project is.

-12/+12 is the original specified range of RS232 so you could get a MAX232 or similar chip which converts that to TTL (0 to 5V).
Oh. Justa sec. Is that -12 to +12 analog? If so, forget what I just said.

This move the voltage shows how.
