How to hang up air sensor outside room wall

I have a project measuring air quality every hour and posting to Web and it's powered from a wall socket.

I have built a little acrylic box for it which is about 6" x 6" x 6" which might weigh about 1/2 a pound. The components are just a an Uno, a Grove shield and a co2 sensor which might all weigh about 1/2 a pound.

I'm wondering how to set it up outside my room wall which is wooden boards and sheet rock.

  1. The support for the box. I'm thinking of using wood screws to hold a couple of brackets. I'm thinking I'll need a way to hold the box to the brackets.

  2. Feeding air into the box. I was thinking of using a pvc pipe with elbows to make a sort of chimney to feed air into the box. I was hoping of making a tall chimney with a drain loop before entering the bottom of the box.

  3. Power feeding the box. I had thought of simply running a cable through a pvc pipe of about 1/2" to run the power cable straight thru the wall.

But then I thought it might be a better idea to make a long rectangular prism box that went through the wall. This way I could have access to the project itself for both power and even uploading a new sketch in case of updates.

Attached is a drawing of my original idea (top) and my recent idea (bottom).

Id appreciate comments and suggestions. Thanks!
