I have started a project with arduino Nano and some Ttp223 Capacitive Touch Sensor.
I would like to have a response time max about 1mS. Unfortunately , for TTP223 response time max is 60mS at fast mode.
Do you have an idea for me to improve Ttp223 Capacitive Touch Sensor ? or do you know another Capacitive Touch Sensor or Capacitive Touch component which can have such type of response time ?
thank you for your help
My project is a wireless reaction time box (with 2 Capacitive Touch Sensor and 2 arduino nano ) when 2 plauers touch Capacitive Touch Sensor a the same time if the difference time between player 1 and player 2 is less than 1ms both have the point, if the difference time between player 1 and player 2 is more than 1ms only best player have the point.
So I search a touch sensor which can have this response time or a solution to improve the Ttp223.
Why is the response time of the touch sensors important.
If two the same buttons are equally slow, then the two outputs of the buttons change at the same time.

The problem is that Capacitive Touch Sensor TTP223 has a response time in best case at 60ms to 220ms.
So when I have to compare the time of both sensors which are less reactive than the real signal the result of this comparaison is less accurate than it should be ( if i do it with push button instead of capacitive touch sensor).
So I think , if I use a Capacitive Touch Sensor which has a fast response time the result of the comparaison will be more accurate and will reflect more the reality ???
I assume the response time of two identical sensors is exactly the same.
Even if the delay is one second, or 10 seconds, you could still see which player had touched it first.
I would worry more about the players missing the exact spot on the touch field.
A big red mushroom-button seems a much better solution.

In fact, This project work correctly with wire and push button and we can often see that difference time between 2 plauers is less than 2ms but rarely under 1ms. In addition, with the speed requested for this exercice push buttons don't live a longtime!!!!
So ma solution would be a Capacitive Touch Sensor which doesn't risk to be broken and in addition we can customize the size of the surface to touch compare to a push button.
But with the ttp223 in this case the measurement of the time is not enough correct to verify if difference time between 2 touch is under 2ms or not .
