How to integrate ProfiNET and ProfiBUS communication

Hello,

I need to implement ProfiNET and ProfiBUS respectively in two different projects to communicate with a S7 PLC Siemens.

What I've is a custom MCU board with RS485 interface. I want to choose most economic solution.

I've some questions:

  • Is there libraries for ProfiBUS (something like Modbus) to easy integrate into fw?
  • Is there something like this also for ProfiNET? I would integrate just an ethernet port.

Otherwise, is there cheap modules that perform translation between RS485/Modbus -> ProfiNET?

What microcontroller are You using?

I think it is time to upgrade your google. I entered arduino profiNET then arduino ProfiBUS and found libraries in each search as the first item listed. Modbus hit as well. Since it is a custom board that is probably not arduino based I suggest you contact the Microprocessor's local FAE.
