As I had some issues with this combo, I just wanted to share my solution.

I have googled intensively for a DMA solution for this and over at Adafruit there is work going on, but still a bit early days as far as I could see. (Stability issue, but please correct me if I', wrong.)

Looks like it does, but I couldn’t for the life of me get it to import into AtmelStudio 7 …
A HW DMA/SPI solution looks interesting though, so I won’t give up …
