How to make a 5 button footswitch to switch between 5 presets on rack FX unit

Hi,

I have literally just stumbled on arduino so am completely new to this but - I was hoping to have a bash at building a midi footswitch so that I can switch between FX presets on my microverb 4. I have looked at the forum to see if anyone has built exactly what I am hoping to make but have not quite found it.

I would be looking to have about 5 switches, each for an individual FX preset on the unit. When I press one the previous one should turn off so that only one can be used at a time. All I want is to be able to switch between about 5 different effects on the microverb by pressing a switch for each preset.

A person on a guitar forum has recommended I get one of these to do it with.

Given that I have soldering experience but no midi experience. Is this going to be relatively simple for me to make? Is this a good project for a complete beginner?

Anyone tried anything like this?

I think what I am after is something like this but with the "Option 1 - 5 Favourite buttons" modifications he suggests. Though I have no idea how I might implement this...

1.5 hours? Are you a narcissist?

What?

Expect to wait at least a day for a response. Many (most?) users visit the forum somewhere between once a day and once a week. Be patient.

Ah, sorry. I spend a lot of time on guitar forums where it's a lot more quickfire and they are a bit more laid back. Didn't mean to offend anyone.
