How to make the user to enter the value for the desired output?

hello!

I am new to Arduino platform so please help me..

we are doing a project on soil moisture sensor and we used Arduino as automation platform, in this we required to read some values from the user and give results according to those values he/she enters.

we would like to take a value for saturation percentage of soil, and area of the agricultural field as input from the user.

can you please show me a way of how to do it?

as I said I am new to Arduino so don't get hesitated if the question is silly.

Thank you in Advance.

You have to write a C++ sketch for your Arduino which incorporates the following:

Serial.read() to get information from the user.
analogRead() to get data from the moisture sensor.
Some code to process the results.

You then have to compile and load this sketch on to the Arduino using the Ardino IDE.

Have a look at Serial input basics - updated

If you have got as far as installing the Arduino software (IDE), you'll find an example under:
File --> Examples --> 0.1 Basics --> AnalogReadSerial.

This you will require for reading the soil moisture sensor.

Thank you very much
I will check that out.
