How to measure current draw from BLDC motor

I'm using a PROPDRIVE 1400KV Brushless Motor with a 60 amp reversible ESC. I'm trying to measure the current drawn from a BLDC motor for an actuator that I'm trying to make so I don't have to use limit switches. When the current spikes then the motor would've reached a limit (this is a feature of an odrive if anyone is familiar with it).

I came across a video that used a INA3221 module which allows you to measure the current of 3 channels. The explanation in the video wasn't clear but my question is will the current of the three channels be the same? And can the INA3221 module handle the burst current of 320 amps of the ESC? If there are better solutions, please let me know.

The video I used, skip to 7.02 for the INA3221 module

Measuring current spikes to derect end of motion sounds bad to me. What about likely huge mechanical forces due to the inertia of the motor and attached gear?
Every item in motion needs a distance for stopping.
