Yes, you should do the same as you did with your serial interface.
So first set up your display. Then do a lcd.print to print some characters. And finally do a lcd.write to get some values to the screen.
You also should read the manual (click !). After you read all of that, say thank you to Nick Gammon for his meticulous job on that.
And do now and then click on the learning tab on top of every page here, where you can find some information about a Liquid Crystal Display library.
