I get a lot of old equipment that display digital read out, such as the ph meter that show 6.2 on a small screen, as you know all this equipment would not tell me how to interface with arduino, is there any way that we can make something to make use of this as the input data? Any suggestion welcome.
It might be possible - connect to the serial line that drives the LCD and decode what's being sent. Depends on the LCD module in question of course, standard 16x2 and 16x4 displays would be ideal for a first experiment. Watch out for high voltages inside the instruments of course.
thanks for the reply, any hint or link where I can look into doing something like this? most of the tester I have are low voltage and only 3 digit display. I want to try this out. thanks.
