i need to read the inductance on a bobine, and i've seen this , but what i need is to read the inductance when altered by the proximity of a ferric material (in essence, an inductive sensor). Is it possible following this example?
The circuit may work, but the inductance of wire wound on a ferromagnetic core depends on the core material characteristics and the physical design as well as the number of turns of wire.
I will not expect, a good readings.
I am using this one, very good.
Note that for some magnetic materials (actually all of them) the inductance (and loss) varies with frequency, so
inductance is best measured at a fixed frequency(*), not by resonating with a fixed capacitance. However this
is harder to do without more complex test equipment.
(*) If you want meaningful comparisons between different materials.
