I am trying to make my Arduino play sound, but I am actually clueless on what this schematic means
Also, is it fine if I don't use a resistor on this project?
Thanks, sorry if the questions are stupid, I'm really new

That is not a schematic drawing.
Can you post a (clickable) link to the source of the drawing? The resistor is needed to limit the current through the LED.

No.

Well you seem to have spotted a resistor so you are not exactly clueless.
What it is showing you is how to connect various components, with wires, to your Arduino. It is not a schematic it is a physical layout diagram and as such is very much useless in telling you what the circuit is. The main use of a diagram like this is that some people want to just make things without understanding them and this shows them where to put the wires.
The big problem is that the other components are not so recognisable.

Good tutorial on how to read schematic diagrams.
Don't waste your time and effort on Fritzing.
