How to recreate the "TinyTV DIY Kit"?

Hi guys I'm new here so sorry if I'm very ill informed. I would like to make something similar to this TinyTV Diy Kit which consists of the following components:

  1. Tiny Display/Processing Board
  2. Battery
  3. Tiny Speaker
  4. Audio MicroSD Board

I however would like to 3D print my own TV case and use this Grayscale Display instead. My question is can I buy this DIY kit and the display I want to use and swap them? Or do I need to buy different things to make this display work?

As I've looked into this I learned I will need a microcontroller to program this display. So far I plan on buying these:

  1. Grayscale Display
  2. Connector between display and microcontroller
  3. SAMD2 Dev Board (microcontroller)

What other components do I need for this project?

For my project it's important to me that all the boards are relatively small and can fit in a TV shaped box. It's also important that the audio and display are synced as I've found a lot of tutorials where I can just display a text/video without any sound or vice versa.

The small board you see in your link is the SAMD board with USB connector.

The biggest part may be the battery, depending on how long you want to play. And a loud speaker requires an audio amplifier, size up to a ghetto blaster if you like.
