If you look at the picture, i need motor 1 to turn about 45 degrees, then the motor 2 to rotate continuously for about 5 seconds. then motor 1 needs to go back 45 degress (to its original spot).

You need to tell us what sort of motors you are using (post links to their datasheets) and also tell us how your Arduino can tell when the motor has rotated 45 degrees.
