I am working on a program with a GPS. When the program starts if the wiring is not connected it gives the "check wiring no GPS" and once i connect the wire and GPS connects it goes away and starts reporting GPS info. This is as it should be. the problem I have is that if i disconnect "lose connection", it does not go back to saying "check wiring". Instead it just keeps reporting the last known numbers thus not giving an indication that it has lost connection or lost signal.
I've tried a lot of different things to get it to report when there is no connection but all without good results.
this is just one of the tinyGPS examples. and this is the code that initially works to show not connected but once connected then disconnected, it no longer works. I think this is due to the last received string staying in memory. So perhaps my question is how to clear out the last string received so i can see if i lose connection.
