I'm having some problems exporting raw data from arduino to excel. I'm currently using PLX-DAQ however i kept on getting run time error 424, objects required. I'm running on Windows 10 and Excel 2013.
Use putty and just log the Serial data to a CSV file?
Actually, you are having trouble importing in Excel. The runtime error is coming from the VBA within Excel.
Without seeing the VBA program, I doubt anyone here can provide much assistance.
Did you even bother to check the required specs for that software...or do we have to do even the most basic troubleshooting for you?
System Requirements
Microsoft Windows 98
Microsoft Office/Excel 2000 to 2003
May not work with newer software; no longer supported
Learn python and stop messing about.

Upgrade Excel to 2003 and you will probably be OK.
The big things about PLX are live graph and timestamping. If you are not intending to use graph, sending the data to a proper terminal programme, like RealTerm, is pretty useful. They can record CSV and include timestamping from the PC clock just like PLX.
Another option is a real-time freebie put out by the University of Melbourne, I think it is called Live Graph. It was pretty good but I didn't pursue it because I use PLX.
If visual is what you are mainly about, I get a live graph on the phone with Bluetooth Graphic Terminal and download CSV later as needed. Not as good but very convenient.
There are bound to be other options, so there is no need to re-invent the wheel, and you can safely leave learning Python to those that like messing about.
If you do not require use of PC during the logging, you can use an Arduino micro 32U4 and HID keyboard.
I did this project with V-USB HID and Excel:
