how to switch off power LED

Hi,
can you please help me with the following question:
I built an IR-RF converter (http://www.arduino.cc/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1284587310) with an Arduino that is now permanently in action. The little green Power LED on the Arduino glows all the time...
Is there a way to switch it off programatically?

Thanks for your help!

You will have to remove the led physically.

Or solder a short jumper wire across the led?

Stick a lump of black tape over it......

I guess to give a more proper answer, there is no way to do it programatically as the led and it's resistor is hardwired between +5vdc and ground.

Or just yank it  But in all seriousness, I'd just leave it alone, since it's really not consuming that much power.

I think he was saying it was the actual light that was the issue not the power drain.

Blu-tac is good at blocking LEDs.
