How to take serial in on 0 & 1 and output on 2 other pins

Ok so I found the software serial functions so I can read/write to other pins. Now I am trying to figure out the best way to take the data from 0 & 1 and output (just pass it through) to my software serial pins (10&11).

I saw the wire library but wasn't sure if that was for just passing data between to arduinos.

I am just trying to test a connection between a remote and camera. I would like to make it wireless at some point but I want to see if the remote will work if I pass the data between the arduino.

BTW I tried a wireless rs422 (snap link) and it did not work so I am trying to figure out why. I have a feeling the remote needs to see a voltage before it starts transmitting.

Have you looked at the SoftwareSerial examples ? One of them does exactly what you describe. Reduced to the bare minimum it is.

#include <SoftwareSerial.h>
SoftwareSerial mySerial(10, 11);

void setup()
{
  Serial.begin(57600);
  mySerial.begin(4800);
}

void loop()
{
  if (Serial.available())
    mySerial.write(Serial.read());
}

Yes that's what I was using as my code, just thought I might have it wrong since the controller does not work. Thanks
