I am hoping someone can tell me how to test an MSGEQ7.
I am trying to make an a Audio Spectrum Analyzer using this http://www.forgefun.com/projects/arduino/msgeq7-audio-spectrum-analyzer/.
No Matter what I Do I cant get it to work. I mean nothing happens.
Not sure if I have a bad cip.
You use an oscilloscope to check that all the pins have the correct waveforms / voltages on them.
Start with power and ground.
Check the reset is high with an occasional pulse low.
Check the strobe has a regular square wave on it.
Check the output pin is jiging up and down.
Check that pin 5 has audio on it.
All tested Fine. The cool thing is, it was the first time I had a real need to use my oscilloscope.
In the end it turned to to me a bad jumper.
