I wanted to make this led display project ( Digital clock Max 7219 dot matrix Random animation & how to set the time in the RTC module with code - YouTube ) so i bought all the materials needed but it didnt work the led display is flashing in a random fashion and even turn on when the vcc and gnd aren't connected to the display.
To check the other part and the board i tried to connect the arduino and display directly using this video (Arduino Text Scrolling Display | MAX7219 Dot Matrix 4-in-1 - YouTube ) but still not working and still turn on even while gnd and vcc isn't connected to the led

Show us a good schematic of your proposed circuit.your ‘actual’ wiring.
In the Arduino IDE, use Ctrl T or CMD T to format your code then copy the complete sketch .</> icon from the ‘reply menu’ to attach the copied sketch.
