How to turn on my1016 motor

Should I use a buv22 transistor, or a mj14001 transistor or a igbt to turn on a my1016 motor, which is rated at 250 watts and is rated at 24 watts and is rated at 13.7 amps and 78% efficient, I think? This is a project I am planning to do. The Arduino uno or esp8266 will turn on a switching device, that turns on the my1016 motor.

???

Will you need to control the speed or just run full speed? 24 volts 250 watts correct?

Just want to make sure I can connect it to a 24 volt battery and turn it on and off with a semiconductor device, without damaging the switching device. I don't want to use a manual switch or relays.

Sure, just use a suitable logic level MOSFET, capable of handling around 50 Amperes drain current. Don't forget the inductive kick diode D1, rated for the maximum continuous motor load current. For bidirectional rotation, use a MOSFET H-bridge motor driver, also rated for 50A.
