I'm starting driving tft with arduino uno.
I have a project which involves a 5" tft display (if possible), so i'm just asking if i can drive one 5" display with an arduino ONE or if i would need a different microcontroller as MEGA.
Another problem i have is what kind of interface protocol use, i'll use quite digital pins so i need some interface that uses the less pins as posible.
What display do you recommend me for this purpose? or what specs should have the display that better fit my requirements?
Sorry about my english
It all depends on exactly what display you have.
You will need one with its own controller and memory, not one that the Arduino has to drive the pixels.
This means you can't use the cheap displays but maybe you will find one in the more expensive end of the market.
A Mega will not give you much advantage, you might have to step up to a Due.
i do not own any display yet (actually i have few but it wasn't my idea to use them) so im thinking about buying a specific one for my project, but i don't know what display buy, thats what im asking here.
I also need support about the interface and if its possible to drive it with arduino uno, it will only display some data (numbers and a level bar), so as it doesn't involves graphs or anything similar i hope is possible to use the UNO instead DUE.
After reading some pdf about driving tft my conclusion is: i can use whatever tft i like (always i have the way of connecting it with my arduino) but the problem i'll face then is how i should communicate with the display ¿is that correct?
I've been looking for a large display that works with arduino and the current working libraries but the bigger i've found is 3,2", which is a bit small for the project i'm working on.
Hope anyone can help me about this.
Try with TFT SmartGPU 2 3.5" or 4.3" work fine with arduino Due, Mega or UNO. Only 5-pin!!!
GND
3.3 V
RST (one digital pin Dx)
TX
RX

No.
Please re read what I said.

i have read what you have said, i understand i need a tft with integrated driver and memory, but even with that i have read that sometimes i will need to know how to communicate with it because of the way it receives the information.
i ask this because you can find very cheap tft on ebay that uses i2c communication but i think arduino tft library doesn't support all displays

good option, a bit expensive but seems to worth,
