well BIOS or whatever system used in the chip in ARDUINO IDE. the definition I had in above post was just a cut and paste. if a code that goes haywire like an infinite loop might damage IDE (?)
an expert can confirm this. run time programming through PAGING is a better and safe way.

probably, a person who understands programming will pick this quickly but as you
say a beginner might not. as far as I am concerned I have comments
at each line of code. if you find that nonsensical well that's your problem.
as I say you need a bit of grey matter to engage in programming.
