how to use parallel port for serial communication

i want to use parallel port for spi. i dont know how to set phase and polarity for sclk.how to send and recieve data. do i need to shift data synchronized with the clock or the parallel port will do it automatically? :-/

or the parallel port will do it automatically

No. I am assuming you are talking about using the parallel port of a PC to communicate with an SPI device (in which case it is not really an arduino question). You have to "bit bang" the port. That is set the bits high and low in the correct sequence to do the transfer. Absolutely nothing is automatic.
