how to use pin 11~13 when attach ethernet shield on UNO R3

In manual it says that when ethernet shield attached, don't use pin 10 to 13 and 4 for general use.
I know 10 and 4 pin is for SS, however, I found that Leonardo board works with Shield only via ICSP pins on board instead of 11 to 13 pins.

And there is answer in case of Leonardo, pin 11 to 13 can be used for general purpose.

I assumed that "Shield can work only via ICSP pins"
if this assumption is correct, can I use pin 11 to 13 with UNO R3 for general use?

Not on an Uno. The SPI data lines are connected to both the ICSP pins and D11-D13.
