I have a Ping))) ultrasonic sensor for measuring distances and I can't get it to work. I am wondering if the sensor is just broken because it always outputs HIGH. The only way I can get it to output a value in cm/inch is when I disconnect the pins and reconnected them quickly after it would output the time it was disconnected, meaning the output was low for that time. If the pin remains connected, it constantly outputs 0 cm as well as 0 for the duration of the ping.
I hoped I could use it with TinkerKit, but don't know whether or not its possible to use TinkerKit with an unsupported sensor.
