how to use the ky-038 to make the leds change colors by say like red an dthe read leds will turn on

In that case you have no chance of doing this. Speech recognition is too processor and memory intensive to be implemented on an AVR Arduino.
It might be just possible on a more powerful Arduino like the Due or the MKR4000 with its FPGA but I have not seen any one try it to date, let alone be successful.
