How to wire a mega328p-AU

Yep I've just looked at the schematic used and they for some reason called the reset CS, so on my schematic "D10" should be "RESET".

I guess the LEDs operate at 3.3v but the output is brought up to 5V so they shouldn't affect the TX and RX lines. I have put a 10nF capacitor at V3 to ground.

other than these lat adjustments hopefully it should be complete :crossed_fingers:

If I connect the power to the USB port, would that allow for me to power the board with the usb cable as I write to it/program, but also allow it to be powered solely from batteries when the usb cable is disconnected (They will not be plugged in at the same time), saving me having to always battery power it?

You should avoid that the battery power (converted to 5V) flows into the computer.

I think that I missed your post #41 of 10 days ago. Where does that come from ? They connected AREF to 5V (very bad) and not all GND pins are connected to GND (pin 5 is not connected).

I mean having two voltage regulators, each 5v but only one would ever be in use at a time.

This works on my teensy 4.0, where when its plugged into my laptop I can write to it and it powers my whole pcb. If I connect a battery (With the USB removed) and it runs the code perfectly. You can physically cut a connection on the teensy in order to have a serial output and have it powered by a battery at the same time.
I'm just wondering how I could implement this.
Luckily all I did was copy the pins for the boot loading :slight_smile:

You don't have to ask that, you can look it up.

Look at the schematics of the Teensy 4.0, Arduino Uno and Arduino Nano. Then you see three different ways. It is all open-source. That's all online.
There are also MKR boards with a connector for a battery.
