How to wire ESP8266 nodeMCU to powerbank/battery?

Can someone show me how to wire ESP8266 nodeMCU to powerbank/battery T_T

does it need some module or other components?

"we don't want it connected to a laptop"

It is pretty straight forward, but, you need to make sure that the ESP8266 can handle the voltage from the powerbank, otherwise, you might need to add some resistors or use some kind of voltage regulator to lower the voltage.

You just need to connect GND -> GND and V -> V.

What kind of powerbank do you have? What connector does it have?

Br Max

It's called USB cable, no need for other components.

I've already tried this it's not working

does it need to have powersuppply module?

You may have a powerbank of the sort that needs a minimum load, current draw, to keep it active (alive).

Never had a power bank that doesn't power nodeMcu. Obviously it has to be charged to work...

when both the Arduino and Esp are connected to a laptop it works but when we put it on a powerbank it does not

Please help us :pray:t2:

what you mean both?

Much more detail please

Which Arduino ?
Which ESP8266 ?
How are they connected ?
What sketch or sketches are running ?
What are they supposed to do ?

If you do not understand Post No.6 - say so.
A NodeMCU running the WiFi pulls 100mA or so. There are certain powerbanks that will not stay ON (they will auto-off in 15sec or so) if the current drawn from them is less than 200-250mA.

Also, from where that arduino jumped in to this game?
Are you powering arduino from computer and esp8266 from powerbank and these two are connected somehow??

The similarities. . .

@thatkiddo

Are you and @swish16 working together on this project ?
