How to wire LED /w photoresistor

Hello, I've been reading Arduino Cookbook 2nd edition. And I am a total beginner at electronics and I need your help.

So, I understand the code, fully, because I already have experience with C programming language.
But, this blinking an LED with photoresistor(LDR) wiring is kind of hard for me, because I have 0 experience at wiring.

I don't know what I did wrong. I wired it as the schematic diagram showed me. But I don't get how it's not blinking.

And I don't know where I should put the LED, should I put it on the breadboard or the pin 13?

There is already a led on the Arduino UNO that monitors pin 13.
