I accidently messed up my mega 2560

While making the basic wiring for my printer, I realized I didn't jump the connectors near the driver in the ramps 1.4 shield. so after I did that, Thinking I was just re-pluging my 40a PSU to my ramps board, I accidently plugged it into the 5a input port now for my stupidity I did see the mistake and ignored it thinking 5a just meant this port will only use 5 amps of current and wont explode if you plug something big in, and that's exactly what happened. one of my stepper drivers blew and so did my mega 2560... I just want to know if anyone has experienced the same and if the shield was ok after. I can't check at the moment because I still didn't went out and bought a new driver and 2560. Thanks

PS: the 2560 is heating up A LOT when I plug it in now so it's a lost cause right?

Sounds like you cross connected the stepper power and the USB power and caused a backfeed.
Only power an Arduino from ONE source at a time. Isolate the PC's USB power with a switch in the RED USB wire like this:

Power your Arduinos with an external, solid, 5V power supply fed in on the +5V pin. Tie the grounds between the 5v and stepper power together.
