I am in need to control a arduino uno with a relay shield

Hi all

I am in the process of creating a unit (Arduino and relay shield) to control a few led light from a computer
in example to turn on a relay when the pc sendsout a 1 for red 2 for green and 3 for yellow but my problem id when i send a controll command from anything other then the serial monitur the arduino will restart and forget what i wanted it to do

So your thread title is exactly the opposite of what you want.

You have wired something up wrong.

What is hard to say because of lack of information as to how you have wired it up.

If the relay is wired up to the arduino then how CAN you send a control command from something else ?
What does that mean ? How many different controls do you have connected to the same relay ? (and how ?)
