hello my step dad got me a shield model motor and a board model uno and a thunderblade 80mm blue led fan and told me all 3 will work to make the fan spin my qustain is how because i am new at this tips would be nice and helpful

Hi Brendan, caps are considered -shouting- on the net and some people actually internalize that. Just to let you know 'why'.
You have an UNO, a motor shield and a fan, but which shield and who made it is kind of important because they might have a tutorial on their product if they have a web site. You're a bit of a net newbie or you would have done a search already, right? Because if there already are directions then why ask?
So is there a box or even writing on the motor shield? Something to search on? And while you're looking, do the search, find out what you can on your own and when you come back you will either have specific questions or be able to report how well it works.
