I am trying transfer my code to my adafruit esp32 fether but this mesage comes up. it is not in the wrong port

Sketch uses 260789 bytes (19%) of program storage space. Maximum is 1310720 bytes.
Global variables use 21344 bytes (6%) of dynamic memory, leaving 306336 bytes for local variables. Maximum is 327680 bytes.
esptool.py v4.5.1
Serial port COM9

A fatal error occurred: Could not open COM9, the port doesn't exist
Failed uploading: uploading error: exit status 2

If it's the correct port then make sure there is no terminal window is open.

what do you mean

From the title I assume, you are 100% sure you have selected the correct port number. Close any serial monitor windows, if they are open.

it still does not work

arduino ide says that the board is there, but it does not change port in the program when i put the usb in another plug.

which version of IDE are you using

the newest version. i just updated it

Hi, @oppigranskauen

What is the version number.......
What OS are you running on your computer?

Tom.... :grinning: :+1: :coffee: :australia:

Can you send a screenshot of the IDE and the board it selected and error code also .It will help us to get better clarification of your problem
