I blew up the l293d capacitors, trying to feed the 12v motors.

Hello,

I've a arduino mega 2560, l293d, a mini-servo, and 2 dc motors (i think they are 12v). I tried to hook up a 15v 2amp AC/DC adapter on the input from the l293d, 2 capacitors 16v 100ug, blew up. I changed the broken capacitors on it.

Now i got 6 NCR18650B Cells, but i don't want to use them, because my lack of knowlegde regarding these Cells.
These things can be dangerous i guess.

Can i power my motors with a regulated Lab power supply?

Could you provide your connection schematic?

Since the L293D can handle upto 36V, it should have 40V or 50V caps fitted to be fully useful...

I suspect with some active braking you backfed higher voltage than 12V. 100uF is a bit small
for a motor driver, lots of low ESR high ripple-current capacitance is good, and a good voltage margin
due to the backfeeding on active braking issue...

Still a bit surprizing you blew the caps, that's more likely on having them fitted backwards...

Well than i'm more stupidious than i thought :D. I changed the caps, but it still wasn't working. So i bought a new one, it works.. but the power supply i'm using now, isn't powerful enough: 8x 1,5 AA cells.

My connection schematic is a dramatic, 2 arduino mega's and more. I could draw one maybe soon.
