I Can’t Configure MKR1010 in IOT Cloud

I have configured it in the past but recently it just stopped being configurable. I dont know what happened. I restarted the Create Agent many times, the green LED is on and the cloud recognizes the device. It just wont configure. Any help is much appreciated.

Are you saying that it will not register as a device?
Can you provide details on where it is failing?

Follow the steps at https://docs.arduino.cc/cloud/iot-cloud/tutorials/iot-cloud-getting-started. Make sure that you install the create agent with admin right, see https://support.arduino.cc/hc/en-us/articles/360014869820-How-to-install-the-Arduino-Create-Agent.

I decided to use the Arduino IDE and do a simple blink program and it couldnt connect eventhough it was on the correct port. I then did the same thing with a MKR 1000 and it worked. Therefore I think something is wrong with the MKR1010 board. Then I tried to upload my sketch from the cloud to the MKR1000 board and it stated it needed to update the firmware. I selected that and it failed. I restarted the create agent and still didnt work. I reconnected the device and it didnt work. I wonder what I am doing wrong considering that I know I am using a good device.

Hi @labergemann. I think this is a good troubleshooting approach. When I am encountering confusing problems I like to remove as many factors from the equation as possible so that the specific parameters of the problem become clear.

The "Blink" sketch is always my favorite for this purpose.

Please provide a detailed description of what you mean by "couldn't connect". Include the full text of any warning or error messages you might be getting.

Whenever I tried uploading the program to the MKR1010 it would error out but gave no details of the error. I recently bought a new MKR 1010 and its working perfectly. I think I damaged the other board somehow. Maybe I will fiddle with it later but for now Im moving on with the new board. Thanks for your help

I'm glad that you aren't allowing this problem to slow down your progress.

If you later decide to try again with the original MKR WiFi 1010 board, we will be here happy to help out.
