I can't get a sketch to load into the Arduino Nano Every

I just received the new Arduino Nano Every board and I'm trying to load a sketch into the board. My system is Windows 10. When I plug the board into the USB cable, the system recognizes the board, what port it's on and that it is a Nano Every board. I have tried IDE 1.8.12, 1.8.13 and 1.8.16 versions with the following errors:

avrdude done. Thank you.

Problem uploading to board. See http://www.arduino.cc/en/Guide/Troubleshooting#upload for suggestions.

I had the idea of trying Arduino IDE 2.0.0-beta.9 and the sketch DID load with the message:

--------------------------
Compilation complete.
avrdude: jtagmkII_initialize(): Cannot locate "flash" and "boot" memories in description

--------------------------
upload complete.

I don't know what is different between the 2.0.0 -beta .9 IDE and the 1.8.XX IDE but from the errors listed above, can anyone give me an idea as to try to get the Arduino Nano EVERY board to work with the 1.8.XX IDE's?
Thank you

Did you select the right board and port in the Tools menu?

There is only 1 menu selection for the Arduino Nano board and the com port is automatically selected when you plug in the Arduino Nano Every board. So, the answer is Yes to both of your questions.

Really? I don't have an Every, but then how would you select a "classic" Nano?

There was a chap with this same trouble yesterday.

avrdude: jtagmkII_initialize(): Cannot locate 'flash' and 'boot' memories in description – Arduino Help Center

I found the download in Boards Manager --

There is only a listing for the Arduino Nano. There is no listing for the Arduino Nano Every.
Maybe that is the problem?

Go to Boards Manager and search "Every" and Download and Install that Update.
It worked for me.
I got the message about not finding "flash and boot memories in description", but ignore that.

OK. I see it is located in the Arduino megaAVR boards!! Now it is uploading sketches!!

Thank you runaway_pancake for the screen shot.
