I can't get the IDE to launch on Windows 7

I downloaded the files and installed. Device manager shows drivers are working Arduino Uno is identified and up to date and located in com ports. But when I run the app I get the Arduino logo for a second then nothing happens. I have spent hours and hours looking on line for a solution. I have uninstalled and re-installed multiple times, Check Java its up to date. I tried setup_Arduino_ERW_1.0.5_20130524 and got the same result . I went to the IDE properties set run as admin still get the same results. Is there something I need to have installed on my PC Its a Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit Gateway NV52L06u

I had the exact same problem for a while on my PC and solved it by running the IDE as administrator.

If this does work for you to set admin rights on the IDE permanently do the following:

Right click IDE, properties
Compatibility tab
Check the last check box "run this program as an administrator"
Click ok
Done

I hope this works for you as well.
