I Can't Upload the project to arduino board

After I clicked upload button an error message was displayed.

Arduino: 1.6.8 (Windows 7), Board: "Arduino/Genuino Uno"

Sketch uses 1,324 bytes (4%) of program storage space. Maximum is 32,256 bytes.
Global variables use 15 bytes (0%) of dynamic memory, leaving 2,033 bytes for local variables. Maximum is 2,048 bytes.
avrdude: ser_open(): can't open device "\.\COM1": Access is denied.

This report would have more information with
"Show verbose output during compilation"
option enabled in File -> Preferences.

Have you checked the link that is near the bottom of the error message?

Check device manager. Which COM port shows up when you connect the Arduino? Is that same COM port selected in the Arduino IDE?

Also if you are a newbie, try using the stabler IDE 1.6.5

Same reply I've just given another OP with the same issue: the port number has probably changed.

Watch my video #16 to see how to determine the port number and what to do with your Arduino to match it. URL in the signature of this post.
